Webster’s dictionary defines the word transit as “a system for moving passengers or goods from one place to another.” In his installation at the Valley Metro Central Station titled “Desert city transit art & Such” and the graphic decal titled “City Landmarks & Such” artist Such Stylesexpresses the concept of “transit” with a little more color and beauty.

Such Styles believes that the Valley Metro commute involves a social experience that includes a continual art tour. As passengers peer out of windows, they are greeted with a collection of some of Phoenix’s obvious landmarks including downtown architecture, as well as our native desert plant life and the unique mountain silhouettes against the picturesque Arizona skies. As the light rail snakes its way through the Valley desert cities, it allows the passenger to relax for a while and enjoy the gift of some spectacular views. With these concepts of travel throughout the Valley in mind, Such Styles created installations that celebrate the public transit experience, as well as highlight the desert cities delightful character.

This installation was commissioned by Valley Metro in Phoenix. Photos coming soon.
