Inspired by harvest time, factory assembly lines, yarn balls, vintage toys, birds, tools, and the secret compartment in the wooden desk made by her grandfather during her childhood, Phoenix artist Saskia Jorda created a storefront installation at Scottsdale Quarter resembling a playful workshop setting inhabited by wooden birds. The space appears as if it was left in the process of assembly or in the joyful disarray of play—presenting a whimsical and fictional space amidst a carefully composed chaos. The viewer is invited to invent a possible story for the scene, drawing their own lines between work and play.
